A whisp of smoke wafting through the rafters

They have been coming more recently,
but as always,
they never stay.

I don't remember my dreams, my visions never stay to comfort or frighten me,
They simply leave with the coming dawn and have me feeling empty at the beginning of the day.
It is true though, the empty vessel makes the greatest sound.

I know that they do exist, for as I pass through the days and weeks,
I will be reminded of the things I have seen and thoughts I have pondered.
My thoughts blend with my wishes, and I have a hard time telling what's real anymore.

I am glad for it for this reason, that each day starts with my emerging form darkness.
I do not dream,
I do not hope,
When I sleep.
I simply die.
Die, and wait to be reborn with my eyes torn from the blinding darkness and my ears red from the shrill of silence.

Maybe it's like Haruko said, because my head is empty.

But I want to think that it's something more.
A black flame in my mind when it lies dormant, it pleases itself by feeding off my crossing into myths.
Or perhaps my mind wanders so far from my body that it hasn't the strength to bring these dreams back.
Whatever the reasons may be, I am thankful.
I have no fear,
I have no regrets,
When I sleep.
When I die.

Hidden it is not, it's there just as much as all the other words are. And it's not weird, it fits perfectly. I like to draw parallels to things that other people relate to, it help me to be better understood.
Thats cool, i was watching fooly cooly at the time and was like, "woah, nik totally got that from flcl!" It does fit, it was just unexpected.
